Two of the best services a lawyer can offer are empathy and active listening. Though I have years of experience practicing law, only you know the intimate details of your case. I’ll advise you on next steps and help you take care of the details — but I’ll never order you around or try to push my best interests. When your case goes well, my case goes well.
My father was a family law attorney, so I was exposed to the ins and outs of the legal process throughout my younger years. In addition, I was the head of a paralegal department for 25 years, and I taught at Creighton Law School on and off for 25 years. I understand all the nuances of Nebraska family and criminal matters, and I’m prepared to use that knowledge to your advantage.
It’s not enough to say how much I care — peer awards demonstrate my reputation. In 2018, I was peer-rated for high professional achievement by Martindale-Hubbell. I also received the Alfred G. Ellick Lawyer Referral Service Award in 2017, which is awarded to attorneys who have showcased a longstanding dedication to the Omaha Bar Association’s referral service.
The importance of my father’s work is not lost on me. In fact, the reality that he served our community as an attorney for so many years was a big reason that I decided to pursue law, as well. With every case, I strive to make him proud of my dedication and work ethic.
When you hire an attorney, you’re in a situation that calls for their expertise and care. Every day, I make sure that I personally handle the details of your case. You’ll continue to work with me from the very beginning of your case to the very end — no middlemen involved.
Though you’re too overwhelmed to manage your case alone, that doesn’t mean that you don’t want to know all the important details. Think of me as your case manager: I’ll take care of the logistics, report on all the details, and advise you on the next steps. Anytime you have a specific question, I’m here to answer it for you.
Even though this case is perhaps the most important issue in your life right now, you still have a slew of daily responsibilities to attend to. I’ll handle the research, preparation, and negotiations to help alleviate the time commitment that comes with taking a case to trial.
Home to Omaha, Douglas County also includes cities such as Boys Town, Waterloo, Valley, Bennington, and Ralston. If you’re located in or near any of these areas, I’m happy to assist you.
My neighbor to the south, many of my Sarpy County clients come from communities such as Bellevue, Offutt AFB, La Platte, La Vista, Papillion, Richfield, Springfield, and more.
You don’t have to be located in one of these counties to benefit from my legal guidance. Whether you live elsewhere in Nebraska or you’re beyond the Iowa state line, I encourage you to contact me.
While it’s always ideal to avoid a battle in the courtroom, the simple fact is that the majority of family law and criminal defense cases end up going to trial. I have experience with both bench and jury trials, and I’ve been practicing law for so long that I have great relationships with the judges, clerks, and bailiffs.
I’ll do everything in my power to settle your case without litigation, but I’m ready for it if the time comes. By approaching your case as though it will end up in the courtroom from the very beginning, I’ll give you a competitive advantage if trial is in your future.
I’ve been working to earn the respect of the legal community for my entire life. My father once told me that I need to be respectful to every member of the legal community because I never know when one of them may end up helping my clients. I’ve adopted this philosophy throughout my career, and — time and time again — my father’s advice has proven to be right.
No matter the type of case you’re handling, it’s always beneficial to have an established, respectful, and compassionate attorney on your side. That’s precisely what you’ve found in me.
